Who supplies the cleaning equipment and products?

Downtown Domestics will supply all the required chemicals and equipment for your one-off job.

Regular domestic cleaning services in Brisbane and surrounds

For your regular house cleaning services, Downtown Domestics will supply all the appropriate chemicals, including products suitable for delicate surfaces and furniture. Our cleaning products are eco-friendly and safe for all, including children and pets. In order to give the appropriate hygiene level and care to your flooring surfaces, we ask you to supply a mop and vacuum cleaner. Additional charges may apply if these are not supplied.

What cleaning products do you use?

The Downtown Domestics team uses eco-friendly chemicals supplied by the manufacturers of True Blue Green Chemicals. Our team will meet with you to discuss any allergies, asthma or other specific requirements you may have to ensure you are always comfortable and safe in your home. We hold current EcoClean Certification and use green cleaning technologies wherever possible.

How long does a bond clean take?

Bond clean times can be hard to determine due to circumstances like the condition of the house, plus its age, type and size. We are happy to come and meet you to provide a quotation if you prefer to lock in a quote rather than work with an hourly rate. A $35 fee will apply in this instance if you do not book our services.

How about insurance for damages?

Downtown Domestics is fully insured for any issues that may arise while we are on your premises. We have current WorkCover QLD, Public Liability insurance policies and are Quality Assured (ISO 9001:2008). Copies of these certificates can be supplied upon request and will also be included in our contract for your regular services.

Do you do carpet steam cleaning and pest control?

Yes we can clean your carpets and assist you with your pest control requirements. For carpets we use a professional hot water extraction method also known as steam cleaning. This method is recommended by almost every carpet manufacturer, but we can also attend to other carpet requirements. We are happy to discuss the cost over the phone or visit you for a quotation.

Is there an extra charge for stain removal?

Yes there may be an additional charge for major or stubborn stains. All stains are different so we cannot guarantee their removal. Let us know what caused the stain, how long ago it occurred and how big it is and we will do our best to treat it effectively.

Is there a service guarantee?

Yes our services are guaranteed. If you have any queries or concerns we will be more than happy to meet with you and work to rectify them.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Bond cleans, spring cleans and one-off services

If you have a booking with Downtown Domestics for your one-off clean, we ask that you give us 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. This means we can keep our schedule updated and slot in another customer. Fees will apply for late cancellations.

Regular house cleaning services

If you choose Downtown Domestics for your regular house cleaning we will create a contract and arrange timing specific to your needs. We would usually request one weeks’ notice on cancellation of your services.

Do we need to meet in person to provide access?

A Downtown Domestics team member will organise to meet you on site for access to the premises. It is preferred that you meet us before we begin the clean to talk us through any specific requirements you may have. Upon completion, it is also preferable for you to inspect the work and sign-off on the services. We want to be sure you’re happy! If it is inconvenient to meet with us then we can, on occasion, organise to collect a key and return it to you (within reasonable distance).

Regular house cleaning services

Downtown Domestics will make a plan for access with you upon contract commencement. We find that having a key is usually the most convenient option, however if you wish to be present when the cleaning is taking place we can organise a suitable time for all parties.

What checks do the house cleaners go through to work with you?

All Downtown Domestics house cleaners go through a full induction process at our Brisbane base, including a police check and training to meet the high standard of cleaning services we provide.

Do you have a recycling programme?

Yes our company guidelines are to ‘rethink, reduce, reuse, re-educate and recycle’. We apply these principles as part of every contract we undertake. We will work with you to understand your requirements and ensure our cleaners adhere to them.

What areas do you service?

Our team offers exceptional house cleaners, bond cleaning and domestic cleaning services to the whole of Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast area.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We request you allow 3 to 5 working days to book in a one-off service with Downtown Domestics as our schedule is often busy. If you do have an URGENT job, however, we will do our very best to help you out so please contact us.

Regular house cleaning services

Downtown Domestics can have a team together and ready to go within two working days for your ongoing house cleaning contract.

How do I pay for your cleaning services?

Payments can be made by Credit Card, Direct Debit, Direct Credit or cash. Downtown Domestics offers a 10% discount for any regular service that is contracted under a Direct Debit agreement.
